After working in video production right out of college, one day I decided on a whim that I wanted to be a journalist instead. So I stumbled upon an “orgasmic meditation” cult and wrote about it, which landed me Gonzo-style sex columns in the San Francisco Bay Guardian and Bay Area Reporter. After that, I slipped into the role of editor at California, UC Berkeley’s mag, where I dove into writing about Bigfoot, UFOs, mind-controlling fly fungus, plant consciousness, and all manner of weird things. I then tumbled into a job working in aerospace, writing about fantastic satellite and rocket stuff.
Now, I’ve fallen into writing transgressive, comedic fiction—doing live readings all over Portland, Oregon. Many of which are recorded and featured on Chuck Palahniuk’s Substack.
And yeah, it’s true. I should probably watch my step. This writing thing is a slippery slope.
But I wouldn’t have it any other way.
